Additional information:

- In the house you will find a map of the surrounding region.

- The beds have already been made. In the bathrooms you will find sufficient towels.

- In the laundry place there are a washing- and drying machine. Here you will also find a childrens chair, spare lightbulbs (in metal buckets), ironing board and iron. Key to the door is on the windowframe in the kitchen or on the keyhook next to the wood heater.

- The temperature of the heating can be set on the thermostat in the salon, by selecting the day or night setting, pressing plus or minus, and finally pressing OK. Near the thermostat are also the lightswitches that control all the lights. Half of the electric sockets in this space also function through these switches.

- NB: The ground fault interrupter, in case of electricity failure, is located in the uninhabited grey house located on the street. When you enter the kitchen of that house you will see a wooden panel with a amongs others a red and black button. Push the black button to re-enable electricity.

- A spare gascylinder is stored in the small barn at the end of the terrace that you can enter through the gardendoors. There is always a spare gas cylinder. By pushing and turning the buttons on the stove you will turn on the gas. In the cabinet next to the stove you will find a red button that turns the gas on.

- Would you mind turning off the coffeemachine as well as the dishwasher seperately after using them? In the basket, on top of the small cupboard above the washingmachine there are several different manuals.

- The wood-heater in the kitchen will burn on full power when both slides are pushed to the right. Wood can be found in the open stables. Axes are in the laundry place. The fireplace in the living room can develop smoke. That's why we advise to start with one of those self-burning logs, heat up the chimney with a torch (made from newspaper) and start with burning smaller logs. Sometimes it helps to slightly open the garden door.

- We usually leave the outside gate open.

- On the domain you will find, apart from the different barns, stables and the uninhabited Bergerie, a small house (coach driver's house) and an old coachhouse. These could be inhabited, though they are on a fair distance of the mansion large enough for you not to experience any discomfort from possible inhabitants.

- When you walk out of the backside porch (don't forget the key, in the platter on the kitchentable), and take a right, you will automatically enter the old part of the village. (So walk down the forrest path on your right hand, take a left at the end, after the path bends to the right take a left down the stairs, and take a right at the road to go to Place Mitterand.)

- When you walk out of the backside porch and go to your left, you will directly enter the forrest. After about 50 metres you take a right to the road, cross the road to the parkinglot and descend to the river the Auxois for a walk of approximately 1 hour.

- You can also walk out of the backside porch, take a left. Keep walking straight ahead, take a right at the end, after about 15 minutes take a sharp right, and after another 15 minutes take a right turn at the T-intersection to return to the house. This forrest is part of Domaine la Croix Chatain.

- On thursdays there is a small market at the Place Mitterand.

- Swimming is possible in the lake at the end of Rue Croix Chatain. After a 15 minute drive you will find the Lac de Chaumecon, with several quiet, small beaches and nice swimming water.

- In case you would like to play tennis, you can book a court at the Bar/Tabac located at Rue d'Avallon, just past the Hotel.

- On thursday and sunday evening you can put the garbagecontainer just outside the gate. The container is located near the stables across the kitchen.

- In case you like gardening, you can do it as much as you like to. And in the periods of high temperatures and low rainfall, it would be nice if you could water the flowers and plants in the evening.

- NB: There are certain places on the property that could be dangerous for "smaller" children. In the small house behind the garbagecontainer you will find a deep well. The historical "icecellar", located on the southside of the entrance lane, is also a place to keep an eye out for. You can see the (ruin of the) structure from the window in the livingroom. Last but not least, climbing the wooden wall surrounding the parkinglot could make the heavy logs fall down.
