Additional information:
|
- In the house you will find a map of the surrounding region.
- The beds have already been made. In the bathroom you will find sufficient towels.
- A spare gascylinder is stored in the open stable next to the
house.
- The ground fault interrupter is located in the grey, uninhabited
house at the end of the "street". When you walk into the kitchen
you will see a wooden panel with a red and black button. Push
the black button to re-enable electricity.
- We usually leave the outside gate open.
- When you walk out of the backside porch (don't forget the
key, it's in the platter on the kitchentable), and take a right,
you will automatically enter the old part of the village. (So
walk down the forrest path on your right hand, take a left at
the end, after the path bends to the right take a left down
the stairs, and take a right at the road to go to Place Mitterand.)
- When you walk out of the backside porch and go to your left,
you will directly enter the forrest. After about 50 metres you
take a right to the road, cross the road to the parkinglot and
descend to the river the Auxois for a walk of approximately
1 hour.
- You can also walk out of the backside porch, take a left.
Keep walking straight ahead, take a right at the end, after
about 15 minutes take a sharp right, and after another 15 minutes
take a right turn at the T-intersection to return to the house.
This forrest is part of Domaine la Croix Chatain.
- On thursdays there is a small market at the Place Mitterand.
- Swimming is possible in the lake at the end of Rue Croix Chatain.
After a 15 minute drive you will find the Lac de Chaumecon,
with several quiet, small beaches and nice swimming water.
- In case you would like to play tennis, you can book a court
at the Bar/Tabac located at Rue d'Avallon, just past the Hotel.
- On thursday and sunday evening the garbage can be put just
outside the gate in the container. This is located diagonally
across the frontdoor, just outside the fence.
- NB: There are certain places on the property that could be
dangerous for "smaller" children. In the small house behind
the garbagecontainer you will find a deep well.
The historical "icecellar", located on the southside of the
entrance lane, is also a place to keep an eye out for. Last
but not least, climbing the wooden wall surrounding the parkinglot
could make the heavy logs fall down.
- On the domain there are, next to several barns, stables and
the uninhabited Bergerie, a coachhouse and the manoir, that
can both be inhabited; the distance to the coach driver's house
is large enough for you not to experience any discomfort from
possible inhabitants.
- In the periods of high temperatures and low rainfall, it would
be nice if you could water the flowers and plants on both sides
of the house.
